Job Description

FSN is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Recreational Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will use evidence-based interventions—including arts, crafts, games, and relaxation techniques—to improve the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient medical histories, capabilities, and interests through observations, medical records, and interviews.
  • Design, implement, and document individualized recreational therapy treatment plans tailored to specific patient goals.
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities such as adaptive sports, cognitive games, and expressive arts.
  • Track patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and physical therapists.
  • Ensure all therapeutic activities and clinical documentation adhere to hospital standards, safety regulations, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Recreational Therapy or a closely related field.
  • Active, valid Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Recreational Therapist in a hospital setting
  • Excellent communication, empathy, crisis management, and the ability to adapt activities to varying physical and cognitive abilities.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Day shift: 5x8 or 4x10
