Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role involves providing high-quality care to intermediate-acuity patients, many of whom are transitioning from intensive care settings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage patients with intermediate acuity levels, including those on continuous cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, and supplemental oxygen.
  • Assess patients for clinical deterioration and promptly initiate escalation protocols or rapid response interventions when patient's condition changes unexpectedly.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physical therapy, case management, and attending physicians—to facilitate safe mobilization and timely discharge planning.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, respiratory treatments, and documentation, maintaining a patient ratio of approximately 3–4 patients per nurse.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards while delivering compassionate, individualized care.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive care experience in a hospital setting.
  • Valid and current Compact Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and excellent communication abilities.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Night shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am
