Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech)

FSN is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pediatric CVOR Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting cardiovascular procedures involving infants, children, and adolescents. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to pediatric patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the CVOR for pediatric cardiac procedures
  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
  • Maintain strict sterile technique throughout all procedures
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including heart-lung machines (as applicable) and specialty tools
  • Perform surgical counts (instruments, sponges, needles) in collaboration with circulating nurse
  • Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens
  • Clean, inspect, and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures
  • Assist in emergency situations and respond quickly to changing surgical conditions
  • Support pediatric-specific needs, including age-appropriate equipment and patient safety measures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate degree or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required; pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from NBSTSA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Day shift: five days a week from 7:00am - 3:30pm
