Position Overview:
FSN is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Pediatric Emergency Department team. In this role, you will provide urgent and critical care to infants, children, and adolescents presenting with a wide range of medical and traumatic conditions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and demonstrates strong clinical judgment with a child- and family-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid triage and comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients
- Provide emergency nursing care for acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with pediatric protocols
- Assist with emergency procedures (e.g., airway management, IV placement, splinting, resuscitation)
- Monitor patient vital signs, response to treatment, and overall clinical status
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and family members
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Respond to pediatric emergencies, including code and trauma situations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of emergency, pediatric, or critical care experience in a hospital setting
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress environments
Work Schedule:
- Day shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
