Registered Nurse - Critical Care
Job Description
FSN is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a specialized burn care team. In this role, you will provide high-acuity, lifesaving care to adult patients with thermal, chemical, and electrical burn injuries. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced critical care environment, delivering advanced interventions and supporting patients through complex recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult burn patients
- Perform ongoing assessments, including wound evaluation and hemodynamic monitoring
- Manage complex burn wounds, including dressing changes, debridement assistance, and infection prevention
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and advanced therapies as prescribed
- Monitor ventilated patients and manage airway support when required
- Assist with emergency interventions and trauma resuscitation for acute burn admissions
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation teams
- Provide pain management and emotional support to patients and families
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, recovery, and discharge care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system and adhere to regulatory standards
- Follow strict infection control and patient safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Current and valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in acute care in a hospital setting or an acute care facility of similar size and level as a hospital
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records preferred
- Strong clinical, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
