Job Description

FSN is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join a critical care team. This role involves providing advanced nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

The ideal candidate is experienced in pediatric critical care, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient- and family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Monitor patient status, including vital signs, hemodynamics, and response to treatment
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life-support interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Operate and manage critical care equipment (ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps)
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in code situations
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Support and educate patients’ families with compassion and clarity
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of PICU experience in a level 1 or level 2 trauma center
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric critical care protocols and procedures
  • Strong clinical, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
