Job Description

FSN is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our psychiatric/behavioral health team. The CNA will provide direct patient care, support safety, and assist nursing staff in delivering high-quality care to individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility
  • Monitor and document patient behaviors, mood changes, and vital signs
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment by observing and reporting changes in patient condition
  • Support de-escalation efforts following facility protocols
  • Assist patients in attending group therapy and activities
  • Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies
  • Provide emotional support and maintain professional boundaries

Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Previous experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or healthcare setting required
  • Strong observation and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
