Registered Nurse – Psychiatric / Behavioral Health
FSN is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our psychiatric/behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges while promoting a safe, therapeutic environment. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and support recovery-focused treatment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to effectively manage patient care in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
- Provide crisis intervention and support de-escalation efforts as needed
- Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and care teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies
- Maintain a safe and structured therapeutic environment
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program
- Previous experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or acute care setting required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations
