Are you a skilled and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist ready to make an impact in a high-acuity clinical environment? We are seeking an experienced Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) to support a dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will deliver critical diagnostic imaging services that directly influence patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across multiple specialties
- Conduct studies including abdomen, retroperitoneum, small parts, gynecology, male pelvis, and obstetrics
- Perform vascular imaging, including upper and lower extremity venous studies, carotid, ABI/segmental pressures, aorta, renal artery, and lower extremity arterial exams (including stents and bypasses)
- Accurately capture, analyze, and document imaging in PACS systems
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support timely and accurate diagnoses
Patient Care & Technical Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for radiographic or sonographic procedures by assessing needs, providing pre-test education, explaining procedures, and answering questions
- Provide reassurance and support throughout the procedure and ensure patients understand discharge instructions prior to leaving the care area
- Perform diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with established protocols; accurately locate and record internal structures, including organs and blood vessels
- Conduct quality control measures to ensure optimal image quality; adjust equipment and patient positioning to eliminate artifacts
- Apply appropriate safety measures, including minimizing radiation exposure where applicable through shielding and beam limitation
- Monitor patients for physical or emotional changes during procedures; recognize abnormalities and immediately notify the physician
- Prepare and administer contrast agents as required
- Accurately record pharmaceutical dosages (as applicable to technologist scope)
Required Qualifications
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification (abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast, based on services provided)
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based ultrasound experience
- Demonstrated experience performing a broad range of general and vascular ultrasound studies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active or pending state licensure (if applicable)
- Knowledge of digital imaging systems and PACS
- COVID-19 vaccination (if required by facility)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Phillips EPIQ 7 or EPIQ 5 ultrasound systems
- Background in acute care, ICU, or emergency department settings
- Experience in high-volume or trauma-focused imaging departments
- Ability to adapt and float based on departmental needs
Schedule & Additional Requirements
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Willingness to work 2–3 major holidays annually
- Flexible scheduling options may be available
- Open to both local and travel candidates
- Travel and licensure reimbursement available where applicable
Compensation & Benefits
