Registered Nurse - Ambulatory (Pediatrics)

Position Summary:
FSN is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a pediatric outpatient clinical team. In this vital role, you'll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting, supporting assessments, treatments, and care coordination for pediatric patients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes in an ambulatory setting.
  • Perform patient triage both in person and via telephone, facilitating timely and appropriate care.
  • Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and minor interventions.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication usage, preventive health measures, and health maintenance.
  • Monitor patient progress, promptly reporting any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments, referrals, and discharge instructions to support continuous patient care.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and workplace regulations to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and efforts to enhance patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an outpatient, acute care, or similar clinical setting.
  • Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CNOR certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, preferably EPIC.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and engage patients and families effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and compassionately within a collaborative pediatric outpatient environment.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Day shifts, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts.
