Position Overview:
FSN is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pediatric Emergency Department team. In this role, you will provide urgent and critical care to infants, children, and adolescents presenting with a variety of medical and traumatic conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating strong clinical judgment, and employing a child- and family-centered approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct rapid triage assessments and comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients.
  • Deliver emergency nursing care for acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma scenarios.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with pediatric protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist with emergency procedures such as airway management, IV placement, splinting, and resuscitation efforts.
  • Monitor vital signs, response to treatments, and overall clinical status of patients.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support, education, and guidance to patients and their families during stressful situations.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Follow strict infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies.
  • Respond effectively to pediatric emergencies, including code and trauma situations, with professionalism and calmness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency, pediatric, or critical care nursing within a hospital setting.
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in high-stress and rapidly changing environments.

Work Schedule:

  • Night shifts, 12-hour shifts
