Registered Nurse - PCU

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, high-quality nursing care to patients requiring intermediate monitoring, including those on cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, and supplemental oxygen.
  • Continuously assess patient conditions for signs of deterioration, promptly initiating escalation protocols or rapid response measures to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—such as physical therapists, case managers, and physicians—to facilitate patient mobilization and ensure timely discharge planning.
  • Administer medications, wound care, respiratory treatments, and perform documentation with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain an improved patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 3–4 patients per nurse, ensuring personalized and attentive care.
  • Uphold hospital policies and safety standards to foster a safe and compassionate environment for both patients and staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years of progressive care experience in a hospital setting.
  • Valid and current RN licensure, with a Compact license preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and excellent communication abilities.
