Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional, compassionate care to expectant mothers and their newborns. Working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will ensure safe and high-quality patient care from admission through postpartum recovery. Your expertise will help create positive birthing experiences and promote maternal and neonatal health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of laboring patients, including cervical examinations, contraction pattern analysis, and continuous fetal monitoring.
- Monitor fetal well-being and maternal vital signs proactively, alerting physicians to any concerns promptly.
- Safely administer medications such as oxytocin, epidurals, and pain management therapies following established protocols.
- Support and assist during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, ensuring a safe environment for both mother and baby.
- Provide immediate postpartum care, focusing on uterine assessment, hemorrhage prevention, and facilitating maternal-infant bonding through skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding support.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of all patient interactions, interventions, and outcomes.
- Comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery or perinatal nursing.
- Current, active RN license.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).
- Obstetric certification such as Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with fetal monitoring technology and obstetric protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
Shift & Schedule:
- 12-hour day and night shifts
