Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Registered Nurse to join our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab team. This role involves providing expert nursing care during complex cardiac procedures such as ablations, device insertions, and electrophysiology testing, in a supportive and well-equipped environment.
Local candidates: Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and circulate during EP procedures including cardiac ablations, cardioversions, conduction studies, and device placement.
- Scrub for procedures and operate Micropace monitoring systems for ablations.
- Perform baseline measurements, assist with cardiac mapping, and interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
- Handle insertion, programming, and troubleshooting of AICDs and pacemakers.
- Monitor patients during sheath removal, ensure proper topical hemostasis using agents like D-Stat or Chito-Seal.
- Administer emergency medications (antihypertensives, vasopressors, thrombolytics), blood products, and contrast media as needed.
- Provide care and maintenance for implanted ports and vascular closure systems (e.g., Perclose, StarClose).
- Conduct vascular assessments, including activated clotting time (ACT), and monitor insertion sites.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an Electrophysiology or Cardiac Cath Lab setting.
- Valid RN license (pending license OK).
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Local candidates not accepted. Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
- Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
- Ability to scrub for procedures and proficiently operate EP monitoring systems.
- Experience with sheath removal, vascular closure systems, and topical hemostasis techniques preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrophysiological data and manage dysrhythmias.
Shift Details:
- Day shift, four 10-hour shifts per week.
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.
- Open to accommodating a block schedule but not guaranteed.
- EPIC experience required.
