Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specialized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to deliver exceptional critical care to patients with complex and diverse medical conditions. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Local Candidates: Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.

Shift:

• Day shifts: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive critical care to critically ill patients, including those on mechanical ventilation, experiencing multi-system organ failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, or post-operative complications.
• Continuously monitor patient hemodynamics using invasive lines and vasoactive medications to maintain stability and optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform bedside procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line placement, lumbar punctures, and bronchoscopies with precision and adherence to safety standards.
• Assist with complex procedures like chest tube management, device management (PICC lines, ports), and advanced airway management.
• Maintain strict compliance with clinical protocols and safety procedures to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Unit Details & Special Procedures:

• Experience with procedures such as A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, and managing open abdomens is preferred.
• Familiarity with ventilator management, pulmonary therapies (HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP), and respiratory failure management.

Certifications & Skills Required:

• Valid RN license with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care or ICU nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Critical care certifications such as CCRN are highly preferred.
• Proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias, managing multisystem organ failure, and performing advanced invasive procedures.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and crisis management skills essential for high-pressure situations.
• EPIC electronic health record (EHR) experience is required.

Additional Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of IV protocols, vasoactive and paralytic drips, ABG interpretation, and invasive line management.
• Experience with infection prevention, PPE, and isolation precautions.
• Capable of managing complex clinical scenarios including CVA/stroke, pulmonary embolism, and ventilated patient care.
