Position Overview:

Schedule & Shift Details:
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week, Monday – Fridays, 5:30 am – 6:00 pm, combination of 2-12’s and 2- 8’s or 4 – 10’s.
- Occasional Sundays due to holidays, with similar shift options.
- Call Requirements: Possible call coverage Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and weekend call from 6:00 pm Saturday to 6:00 am Monday, subject to departmental needs.
- Float Requirements: Flexibility to provide coverage at other dialysis locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality outpatient dialysis care to both chronic and acute patients in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Administer blood and blood products as required, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform vascular access procedures, including cannulation of AV grafts and fistulas.
- Monitor and interpret key dialysis parameters such as conductivity, pressure alarms, ultrafiltration rates, and temperature to ensure optimal therapy.
- Manage and troubleshoot alarms and system malfunctions, including blood leak detectors, arterial and venous pressure alarms, and other safety features.
- Conduct blood glucose monitoring and manage patient responses to treatment, including the management of dysrhythmias and other complications such as hypotension, muscle cramps, or disequilibrium syndrome.
- Maintain strict infection control practices and ensure patient safety during all procedures.
- Respond effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrest, air emboli, or other critical events, utilizing CPR and other lifesaving techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Charge Nurse experience required, demonstrating leadership and team coordination skills.
- Prior outpatient dialysis experience in both chronic and acute settings required.
- BLS certification is mandatory; additional certifications related to dialysis are preferred.
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
- Proficient in advanced dialysis techniques, including blood and blood product administration, cannulation, and venous access management.
- Familiarity with dialysis equipment such as 2008T Fresenius systems and associated alarms and safety features.
- Strong understanding of infection control, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
