Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor
FSN is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a House Supervisor in a dynamic healthcare facility. This vital leadership role involves overseeing patient care, staff coordination, and operational flow during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Position Details:
- Shift Schedule: 3 regular 8-hour shifts and 1 12-hour shift per week, totaling 36 hours.
- Shift Times: Options include 11 PM – 7 AM, 3 PM – 11 PM, and 7 PM – 7 AM.
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend.
- Experience Requirements: Previous charge nurse or supervisory experience (minimum 2 years).
- Local Candidates: Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
Unit and Patient Care Overview:
The RN House Supervisor provides clinical expertise, problem-solving support, and staff mentoring across a diverse range of units, including:
- Neurobehavioral unit for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's exhibiting violent behaviors.
- Rehab unit for residents' post-orthopedic surgery or cardiac procedures, aiming for safe discharge.
- Secure dementia unit for residents at risk of elopement.
- Long-term care residents in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a clinical resource, guiding staff during off-hours.
- Oversee patient flow, safety, and quality of care across all units.
- Manage emergencies, code responses, and de-escalation situations.
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfer processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (e.g., DPH, TJC, OSHA).
- Document incidents, sentinel events, and patient outcomes accurately.
- Supervise nursing staff performance, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Maintain infection control protocols and workplace safety standards.
- Manage specialized equipment such as wound vacs, PICC lines, nephrostomy tubes, and other advanced devices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid RN license.
- BLS Certification required.
- Previous charge or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility regulations and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with EPIC EHR system and basic technical procedures.
