Registered Nurse - Ambulatory / Ophthalmology

FSN is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital-based Ambulatory Ophthalmology Clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, outpatient experience, and the ability to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing ophthalmic evaluations, treatments, and minor procedures. This role requires excellent patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in an outpatient ophthalmology setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and clinical findings.
• Assist providers with ophthalmic examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications, injections, and treatments as ordered.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-visit care.
• Coordinate care, referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Monitor patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting comparable to a hospital environment.
• Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Shift & Schedule:

• Day shifts, 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift.
