Registered Nurse - Ambulatory / Ophthalmology
FSN is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital-based Ambulatory Ophthalmology Clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, outpatient experience, and the ability to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing ophthalmic evaluations, treatments, and minor procedures. This role requires excellent patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in an outpatient ophthalmology setting.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and clinical findings.
- Assist providers with ophthalmic examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as ordered.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-visit care.
- Coordinate care, referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic testing.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
- Monitor patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting comparable to a hospital environment.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Shift & Schedule:
- Day shifts, 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift.
