Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology, you will be an integral part of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. You will support patients through their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, ensuring they receive evidence-based and compassionate care within a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients receiving systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions, including neutropenia, extravasation, and other treatment-related complications, and respond promptly.
- Assess and manage symptom burdens such as nausea, pain, mucositis, and fatigue through established clinical protocols.
- Maintain and care for central venous access devices, including PICCs, ports, and tunneled catheters, following institutional policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology teams to develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans.
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families, guiding them through diagnosis, treatment options, and goals of care.
- Document patient care activities accurately, ensuring compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology or medical-surgical nursing.
- Valid and current RN license (Compact license preferred).
- BLS certification required.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) designation is preferred.
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification (ONS) is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, compassionate bedside manner, and excellent communication abilities.

- Night shifts: 12-hour shifts available
