Registered Nurse - EP Lab
Job Description
FSN is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in Med/Surg (Telemetry) to join our team. In this role, you will utilize your specialized skills in the EP Lab setting, providing high-quality patient care during complex electrophysiology procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and circulate in EP Lab procedures, including cardiac ablations, device insertions (AICDs, pacemakers), and vascular access.
- Perform baseline measurements, patient assessments, and monitoring during procedures.
- Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, perform conduction studies, and handle emergency medications such as antihypertensives, vasopressors, and thrombolytics.
- Insert, program, and maintain cardiac devices, including AICDs and pacemakers.
- Conduct scrub procedures, assist with sheath removals, and utilize topical hemostasis techniques.
- Operate vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and use the Micropace monitoring system for ablations.
- Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain meticulous documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with cardiovascular or electrophysiology background.
- Valid RN license with the ability to fulfill credentialing requirements; license pending OK.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required.
- Certified in phlebotomy and IV insertion—these are mandatory skills for all staff.
- Ability to scrub or operate Micropace monitoring system during procedures.
- Flexibility to accommodate a block schedule (not guaranteed) and be on call as required.
- No weekend, holiday, or emergency call coverage.
