Registered Nurse - House Supervisor
Job Description
FSN is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to step into the vital role of House Supervisor within our dynamic healthcare facility. This leadership position is essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, staff coordination, and smooth operational functioning during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a clinical resource and guide for nursing staff during off-hours, providing leadership and support across all units.
- Oversee patient flow, safety, and quality of care, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, including DPH, TJC, and OSHA.
- Manage emergency situations, including code responses and patient de-escalation, with confidence and professionalism.
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfer processes efficiently to optimize patient care and unit operations.
- Supervise nursing staff performance, offering coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to foster a culture of excellence.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and workplace safety standards to safeguard patients and staff.
- Oversee specialized medical equipment, such as wound vacs, PICC lines, and nephrostomy tubes, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Document incidents, sentinel events, and patient outcomes accurately and thoroughly.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid RN license required.
- BLS Certification- ACLS, BLS, PALS required
- At least 1 year of experience in a House Supervisor or RN Manager role.
- Strong understanding of Skilled Nursing Facility regulations and patient safety procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with EPIC EHR system and basic technical procedures.
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
Unit and Facility Highlights:
- Serves a diverse patient population, including swing bed, detox, and medical patients, with a scattered bed unit.
- The inpatient unit offers a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 during the day and 1:7 at night, supported by LPNs for medication passes and swing bed assignments.
- Onsite RT services available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Facilities include a 7-bed ER, day surgery, and a 25-bed inpatient unit focusing on detox, rehab for debility, wound care, and long-term IV therapy.
