Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our specialized Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit. This role offers a stimulating environment where you can provide exceptional patient care, primarily focusing on cardiac monitoring and patient education in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will have a solid clinical background, a passion for patient-centered care, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments, closely observing for any adverse reactions to ensure patient safety.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including case management, social work, and therapy—to coordinate safe and efficient discharge planning.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, medications, dietary instructions, and follow-up care, enhancing understanding and reducing readmissions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of hospital-based medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience.
- Valid RN license.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS; NIHSS certification preferred.
- Prior experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Certification as a Medical-Surgical Nurse (CMSRN) is a plus.
- Prior PCU training is highly valued, especially for candidates interested in priority placement.
Shift & Schedule:
- Night shifts, 4 days per week, 12-hour shifts.
