Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room (Adult) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to provide critical care in a fast-paced environment while advancing your clinical skills and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of acute conditions, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, neuro-trauma, and pediatric emergencies.
  • Administer medications, including IV therapies and vasopressors, and manage complex equipment such as ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and infusion devices.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.
  • Perform procedures such as blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct triage assessments, implement isolation precautions, and coordinate care for patients with infectious or specialized needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalized, timely care during high-stakes emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation within EPIC electronic health records.

Qualifications:

  • Active New York Single State RN license.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in emergency or acute care settings.
  • Proven skills in IV therapy, ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, and adult/pediatric emergency procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Schedule and Location Details:

  • Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM, 13-week contract- 3 shifts per week
  • Working every other weekend and holiday rotations, with flexibility to meet department needs.
  • Location restrictions: Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible; local LPNs are accepted.

Unit Environment & Equipment:

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, caring for adults and geriatrics with diverse emergency diagnoses.
  • Utilization of advanced equipment such as Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling tools.
  • You may be required to float within your skillset to support department staffing needs.
