Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Long-Term Care at State Supported Living Center

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments accurately via oral, rectal, internal, or injectable methods, following facility protocols and state regulations.
• Perform technical nursing procedures, demonstrating competency and adhering to safety standards.
• Document and report relevant observations clearly and thoroughly, maintaining compliance with facility policies.
• Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring vital information is shared promptly both orally and in writing.
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations, prioritizing resident safety and well-being.
• Monitor residents closely during treatments and procedures, providing appropriate care and support.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing and conduct screening tests as authorized and documented.
• Educate residents on health goals and care plans to promote understanding and cooperation.
• Assist with turning, repositioning, and other mobility-related tasks to promote comfort and prevent complications.
• Maintain adequate supplies and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
• Manage individual medical records accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) or paper charts.
• Adhere to safety and infection control procedures consistently.
• Attend to scheduled shifts reliably, with flexibility for rotating shifts, extended hours, or overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas or a state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an LVN/LPN.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Prior experience with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and psychiatric populations is preferred.
• Basic computer skills; experience with electronic health records is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to dynamic care needs.

Contract Details:

• Approximate Start Date: September 16, 2026, or October 1, 2026
• Duration: Minimum 6-month assignment
• Schedule: 40 hours/week; No overtime required
• Shift: Rotating schedule, 4 PM – 12 AM, five days a week, with every third weekend off
