Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule and Charting Requirements:
- Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 8-week contract
- Charting System: EPIC experience is required to ensure seamless documentation and communication
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and availability to work every other holiday, if needed
- Location Policy: Candidates must reside beyond a 75-mile radius of the facility
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Current valid RN license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required
Clinical Skills and Experience:
- Experience in telemetry and step-down care (PCU/DOU/IMC)
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response protocols, including Rapid Response and Code teams
- Ability to administer oxygen via nasal cannula and manage non-invasive airway devices
- Management of cardiac drips (non-titrated) and blood product administration
- Central line and peripheral line care and management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control standards
Unit Details and Float Responsibilities:
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 to 1:5, caring for adult and geriatric populations
- Patient Diagnoses: Long-term pulmonary care, ENT surgeries, and other surgical procedures requiring step-down level monitoring
- Floating: Flexibility to float within your scope of practice within the unit as needed
