Registered Nurse – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our MICU team. This full-time role offers a dynamic and rewarding environment where your clinical expertise will directly impact patient outcomes. You will be responsible for delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced setting, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU, adhering to hospital protocols and best practices.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, assess clinical conditions, and respond promptly to changes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding their conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Shift Details:

  • Schedule: 3x12 Night Shifts (1900 – 0700)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Experience working in a MICU or Critical Care setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems is required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under high-pressure conditions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Candidate Eligibility:

  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible.
