Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care in an acute care setting with minimal supervision, following established protocols and care plans.
- Welcome patients, escort them to exam rooms, and prepare examination areas to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Assist during exams by preparing trays for injections, measuring and recording vital signs, and supporting procedures such as Paps and injections.
- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and clinical areas to uphold safety and hygiene standards.
- Support physicians during patient assessments and procedures.
- Administer injections and assist with other clinical tasks under the supervision of RNs and physicians.
- Perform routine administrative duties including reception, appointment scheduling, and chart preparation.
- Facilitate communication with insurance companies for authorizations related to physical therapy, imaging (MRI, CT), and surgery.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians to obtain referrals for new or continuing patient care.
- Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems proficiently to document patient information accurately.
- Observe patient responses to treatments and promptly report any reactions or concerns.
- Participate in unit management activities and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong clinical skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Shift & Schedule:
- Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
