Job Title: Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA)

Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: Night shifts (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM), including all weekends

FSN is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapy Aide to join our Bio Behavioral Health Unit. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, direct therapeutic support to patients, including crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Monitor patient safety and behavior during evening shifts, ensuring a secure environment.
  • Assist with facilitating group activities and implementing daily therapeutic programs.
  • Observe, document, and report patient interactions, behavioral changes, and safety concerns to clinical staff promptly.
  • Support the maintenance of a therapeutic environment aligned with facility protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Experience working with psychiatric patients within the last 2 years required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
