Registered Nurse - PCU Float
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Care Unit- Float. This role involves providing high-quality care to intermediate-acuity patients, many of whom are transitioning from intensive care settings. Key Responsibilities:
- Flex across multiple PCU and step-down units based on daily census and staffing needs, adapting quickly to different patient populations and unit workflows
- Provide consistent, high-quality nursing care for intermediate-acuity patients, including telemetry monitoring, IV medication management, and respiratory support
- Demonstrate proficiency with unit-specific equipment, EMR documentation, and charge nurse communication across rotating assignments
- Serve as a resource for permanent staff by modeling clinical flexibility, collaborative teamwork, and adherence to evidence-based protocols hospital-wide
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 2 years of progressive care or step-down nursing experience; prior float pool or multi-unit experience preferred
- Compact Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) preferred
Shift & Schedule:
- Night shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
