Mental Health Therapy Aid (MHTA)

FSN is looking for a qualified Mental Health Therapy Aide to support Med/Surg, ICU, PEDS, and Float Pool.

Location: Syracuse, NY
Employment Type: Contract-13 weeks
Hourly Rate: $28 per hour

Join our behavioral health team in Syracuse as a Mental Health Therapy Aide supporting evening-shift operations. This role is critical in providing therapeutic assistance and maintaining a safe environment for patients in psychiatric and behavioral health settings.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Certification/Licenses: Current CPR certification is required.
• Experience:
• Minimum 1 year in mental health settings.
• Direct psychiatric/behavioral health experience required.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proven collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapeutic support and crisis intervention.
• Monitor patient safety and behavior during evening shifts.
• Assist with group activities and daily therapeutic programs.
• Document patient interactions and report changes to clinical staff.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment consistent with facility protocols.
