Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to intermediate-acuity patients, including those on continuous cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, and supplemental oxygen therapy.
- Monitor patient conditions vigilantly, identify signs of clinical deterioration, and initiate timely escalation protocols or rapid response procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams—such as physical therapists, case managers, and physicians—to coordinate patient mobilization, discharge planning, and ensure seamless care transitions.
- Administer medications, perform wound care, respiratory treatments, and document patient progress accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain optimal patient ratios, typically 3–4 patients per nurse, to ensure personalized and attentive care.
- Uphold hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols while demonstrating compassionate, individualized patient care.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent diploma.
- At least 2 years of progressive care experience in a hospital setting.
- Valid and current Compact RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- PCCN certification is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking capabilities, and excellent communication skills.
Shift & Schedule:
- Night shifts: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
