Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our PICU team. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of critically ill pediatric patients while advancing your expertise in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex mechanical ventilation for critically ill pediatric patients, including those with ARDS, bronchiolitis, sepsis, and postoperative respiratory failure.
  • Assist with pediatric intubation, extubating, and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) under the guidance of pediatric intensivists.
  • Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and implement evidence-based weaning protocols, adjusting support according to developmental and clinical needs.
  • Collaborate actively during interdisciplinary PICU rounds, providing expert respiratory input to treatment planning and family discussions.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and maintain accurate documentation of patient care.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in a pediatric intensive care or neonatal setting.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential strongly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
  • Exceptional clinical skills in managing pediatric respiratory conditions and ventilator management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Night shifts: 12-hour shifts, 3 or 4 days per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
