Registered Nurse - CVOR

Position Overview:
As a CVOR Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting a wide range of cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aortic surgeries, and LVAD implantations. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a scrub or circulating nurse during open-heart and specialty cardiovascular surgeries.
• Maintain sterile field integrity, perform precise instrument counts, and handle specimens following AORN standards.
• Collaborate seamlessly with perfusionists, cardiac surgeons, and anesthesia teams to support cardiopulmonary bypass initiation and weaning.
• Anticipate and address surgical supply and equipment needs proactively, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Manage implants, grafts, and specialty devices throughout procedures to ensure seamless operation flow.
• Uphold a safe, compliant, and efficient operating room environment, strictly adhering to hospital protocols and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of perioperative or cardiovascular OR nursing experience.
• Valid and current RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a multidisciplinary surgical team.
