Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PICU

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide critical respiratory care to vulnerable pediatric patients while advancing your clinical expertise within a supportive and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage advanced mechanical ventilation for critically ill children, including patients with ARDS, bronchiolitis, sepsis, and postoperative respiratory failure.
• Assist with pediatric intubation, extubation, and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) under the supervision of pediatric intensivists.
• Conduct thorough respiratory assessments and implement evidence-based weaning protocols, tailoring support to each patient's developmental and clinical needs.
• Collaborate closely during interdisciplinary PICU rounds, offering expert respiratory insights to treatment plans and family discussions.
• Ensure strict adherence to clinical protocols and maintain precise documentation of patient care activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• At least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in pediatric intensive care or neonatal settings.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
• Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential is strongly preferred.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
• Proven clinical expertise in managing pediatric respiratory conditions and ventilator support.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Shift & Schedule:

• Night shift: 4 nights per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00.AM
