Certified Nurse Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, ensuring respectful and individualized care.
• Monitor, document, and communicate vital signs, intake/output measurements, and changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly.
• Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and mobility, employing proper safety techniques to prevent injury.
• Offer emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to promote emotional well-being.
• Observe for any physical, emotional, or mental health changes and report these observations to the nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment that promotes resident safety and infection control.
• Support rehabilitation and restorative care programs, assisting residents with mobility and recovery efforts.
• Participate in fall prevention and infection control initiatives, adhering to facility policies and safety procedures.
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs, ensuring timely and attentive care.
• Document care activities accurately and thoroughly, complying with all regulatory and facility standards.
• Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, physicians, residents, and family members to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Qualifications:

• Current CNA certification in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of CNA experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to compassionate, resident-focused care.
• Knowledge of resident rights, safety procedures, and infection control practices.
• Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely and effectively.
