Job Description
FSN is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to support physicians and nursing staff in the Endoscopy Unit. The Endo Tech plays a critical role in preparing procedure rooms, maintaining and sterilizing equipment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the endoscopic process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare endoscopy procedure rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and functioning.
Assist physicians and nurses during procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic equipment according to hospital and infection control guidelines.
Handle and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.
Monitor and document equipment performance and report any malfunctions.
Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
Follow all hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards (OSHA, Joint Commission, etc.).
Assist with patient positioning and basic care under supervision.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Certification as a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)
Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Familiarity with endoscopic equipment and procedures.
Shift & Schedule:
Day shift: 5x8 or 4x10
