Job Description

FSN is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to support physicians and nursing staff in the Endoscopy Unit. The Endo Tech plays a critical role in preparing procedure rooms, maintaining and sterilizing equipment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the endoscopic process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare endoscopy procedure rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Assist physicians and nurses during procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic equipment according to hospital and infection control guidelines.
  • Handle and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  • Monitor and document equipment performance and report any malfunctions.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow all hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards (OSHA, Joint Commission, etc.).
  • Assist with patient positioning and basic care under supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Certification as a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) 
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Familiarity with endoscopic equipment and procedures.
Shift & Schedule:
  • Day shift: 5x8 or 4x10
