Job Description

FSN is seeking a skilled and dependable Surgical / Operating Room Technician to join our team. This role supports surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe and efficient surgical care for adult and/or pediatric patients. The OR Tech is responsible for preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and assisting during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and equipment.
  • Ensure all instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready for procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control practices throughout procedures.
  • Handle, count, and track surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
  • Perform post-procedure cleanup and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials.
  • Support turnover of operating rooms between cases in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain inventory and report supply and equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Surgical/Operating Room Technician in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Day shift: 5x8 or 4x10
